Kearifan Penjual Pukis

Perlahan tangan kekar itu menuangkan adonan kue ke loyang kue yang beruas-ruas. Setelah rata dan semua ruas terisi, sebelah tangan lainnya mengambil penutup loyang dan meletakan di atasnya rapat-rapat. Beberapa menit kemudian, ia kembali membuka penutupnya dan mulai mengangkat satu persatu kue yang sudah masak dengan pengungkit kecil, satu, dua, tiga dan seterusnya seraya memindahkan kue-kue itu ke tempat khusus yang sudah disediakan.

Di sebelah lelaki itu, seorang perempuan anggun bersanding. Lihai gerak tangannya bermain dengan sebilah capit, seperti sudah terlatih bertahun-tahun menggunakan alat tersebut. Tangan kirinya memegang plastik transparan ukuran setengah kilogram, dengan capit di tangan kanannya ia memasukkan serta menyusun kue-kue ukuran kecil itu. Di depan kontrakannya itulah mereka menaruh harapan rezekinya, di meja berukuran 1 x 1,5 meter, dan sebuah kompor yang di atasnya terletak loyang kue pukis.

Suatu hari, saya membeli kuenya. Mereka sudah cukup hafal dengan motor yang saya tumpangi, juga cukup familiar dengan kalimat pertama yang terucap ketika saya membuka helm, “Assalaamu’alaikum…”

Ceria, ramah, dan penuh senyum. Itulah wajah keseharian keduanya setiap kali saya singgah.

Malam itu, “Tiga bungkus ya…” satu untuk di rumah, dua bungkus lagi untuk penjaga keamanan di komplek tempat tinggal saya. Saya sering merasa harus berterima kasih kepada banyak orang dalam menjalani kehidupan, tidak terkecuali para penjaga keamanan di komplek. Meski pun hanya sebatas makanan kecil yang kerap saya bawakan setiap kali melewati pintu gerbang.

Tiga bungkus kue di tangan, saya pun menyodorkan selembar uang duapuluh ribuan, sedangkan harga tiga bungkus kue itu sebesar sembilan ribu rupiah. Satu menit, dua menit, sampai lima menit, lelaki penjual kue itu mencari-cari uang seribu rupiah, sementara yang sepuluh ribunya sudah di tangannya. Saya melihat gelagat tak tersedia uang seribu rupiah itu, “Sudah pak, biar saja kembaliannya cukup sepuluh ribu saja.”

Sontak isterinya menjawab, “Wah, nggak bisa. Ini korupsi namanya. Kami tidak mau mengambil hak orang lain”.

“Lho, saya kan ikhlas…” tak mau kalah saya.

“Kalau begitu, terima ini….” Perempuan itu menyodorkan beberapa kue yang telah dimasukkannya ke dalam plastik, kira-kira pas untuk harga seribu rupiah.

Saya kembalikan kue itu, kemudian ia memaksa bahkan menjejalkan kue itu ke dalam helm saya. Lalu saya kembalikan lagi kuenya, “terima kasih, tapi saya ikhlas. Hanya seribu rupiah kok…”

“Benar ikhlas?” Saya mengangguk, ia pun menyerah seraya menengok kepada suaminya. Sang suami pun mengangguk.

Subhanallah. Seribu rupiah membuat seseorang begitu takut dianggap mengambil hak orang lain. Seribu rupiah begitu mengerikan di mata sepasang penjual kue pukis. Dan meski hanya seribu rupiah, tak mau ia mengambil sesuatu yang bukan haknya.

Allah telah memberi nasihat langsung melalui penjual kue pukis. Motor pun melaju tenang, namun tak terasa bulir air bening meleleh di sudut mata ini. Astaghfirullahal adziim…
